NO QUIT

While Eddie Pleasant leads a flock of Ducks on a fumble return, Stanford receiver Chris Owusu lies motionless, reminding us of the dangers of football and brain injuries with head-to-head collisions.
Way to be a funsucker to a thrilling moment, Owusu.

Oregon just refused to give up. They were getting hammered, making mistakes, made to look silly.

And then they went to work.

That hurry up offense is like a boxer's punching rhythm. Unrelenting, it just wears and wears on the opponent. No amount of faking injuries (OH YES THEY DID!) could halt the fatigue.
CBS Sports writer Dennis Dodd wrote an excellent article yesterday titled Explosive Oregon takes spot among nation's elite. Too long to copy here, but it offers a good 'big picture' of what Saturday's game meant to Oregon. Thanks to Ken Goe's tweets for pointing me to it.
Also here is Goe's story: Oregon Ducks rundown: Ducks steamroll Stanford and rise to No. 3 in the AP poll; suddenly, anything looks possible.

Below are several excellent pics from Oregonian photographer Bruce Ely to tell the story.

Darron Thomas handing off to LaMichael
James. This is the start of Oregon's offense --
"Where the sperm meets the egg".
Bad visual? . . . .How about
"Where the match touches the fuse."?
Ya . . . better.

Brian Jackson tackles Konrad Reuland on kickoff return.
Saying Ducks' defense and special teams "fly to the ball"
is an understatement.

Excellent shot of our newest favorite receiver,
Josh Huff, catching TD pass.

Oregon bad boy Cliff Harris skies for his second interception
in the endzone near the end of the game as an exclamation
point in Oregon's message to Stanford:
"You're not as good as us."
(BTW, is that stadium security dude taking a leak?)

(R-G photo) Postgame crowd: While she interviews Darron Thomas, ESPN's Erin Andrews is shielded by police from creepy autograph seekers (blue shirt, center). . . .
Oh wait, that's Ken Goe just trying to do his job. Sorry.
 Highlights of game

Did you catch the interview right after the game? Erin Andrews was trying to ask Chip Kelly a question with some rowdy fans in the background. Kelly turned to the kids and growled, "Hey, show us a little respect!" To me, that was the quote of the day. Now show us some respect!
Before the season I saw a program featuring 4 PAC 10 quarterbacks. They asked them to name the team, besides their own that would win the PAC 10. None of them named the Ducks. Now they fake injuries to keep us from hiking the ball.
